WHAT IS NMDCAT?

NMDCAT is abbreviated as National Medical and Dental College Admission Test.
It is mandatory test to get admission in MBBS/BDS in Public/Private sector medical colleges of Pakistan. It is conducted by PMC nationwide. Before PMC, Admitting universities conduct it on their own but since 2020,PMC is conducting this test with all procedures. 

PMC is formed by Presidential Reforms by Joint Session in Parliament and is authorized to formulate laws and orders to maintain the standard of Medical Education across Pakistan.

PMC is functional since then and is trying to make best use of powers to standardize the medical field in Pakistan up-to International Standards. The start of Medical life of students begin with NMDCAT. And PMC is assigned in its duties to conduct NMDCAT to make it uniform for all students of Pakistan. Hence PMC taken all the rights from Admitting universities and take powers in its own hand and Since 2020 PMC is taking NMDCAT.   

  

In 2020,Paper based test was conducted by PMC but it aims to upgrade it to digital system. In 2021,PMC announces Pakistan's first online based Tests for Medical Journey of Students from NMDCAT to NLE. This year PMC successfully conducted its NMDCAT In 32 days under different time slots. The tender of this test for all computerized setups was given to private company TEPS,SOAR TESTING AND EVALUATING PLATFORM, who managed all the data of 2021 and further aim to work in further years with PMC. 

NMDACT is based on subject based questions from already given topics in Syllabus approved by Academic Board of PMC. This Syllabus includes almost common topics of books of various Textbooks of different provinces. NMDCAT is not limited to only one province and it has questions from different books and hence students somehow face difficulty in preparing all the books for NMDCAT.

        

NMDCAT is simply a competitive exam in which you have to get maximum marks to reach the merit and secure your seat in your desired medical college and is necessary for every candidate to pass it to get admission either in private or public sector medical colleges of Pakistan.
